Pouring a Liquid Mirror in Slow Motion - The Slow Mo Guys 4K

Afþreying

Gav and Dan get some mesmerizing T-1000-like shots of Gallium splashing around. Enjoy the infinite reflections as they destroy ISsofts's compression algorithm even in 4K. I'd be better off burning this one to a disk and mailing it to you guys!
Thanks to American Elements for giving us this Gallium - www.americanelements.com/

fun fact you are not allowed to transport gallium in airplanes. if it leaks it will literally start destroying the flexibility of the aluminum and make it brittle to where wings or fuselage break apart.

That had to be the most psychedelic thing I have ever seen in all my life, and having been born in the 70s to actual hippy parents I most certainly understand psychedelic first hand. In my house coloring usually consisted of my parents, brothers and myself sitting at the kitchen table, with several black lights as our only light, neon colored crayons, paper and coloring books. In short, in my house, even arts and crafts were freaking psychedelic! LOL ✌🥳

Hey lads: I think you may have accidentally made a big discovery here, at 4:35 - 4:45, you have captured the metal diffracting light the same way a silicon processor die does. Yet, I cant for the life of me figure out how this is occurring, maybe there is UV light causing electrons to change energy states in the metal in oscillating patterns. Either way, this footage is a great capture of a phenomenon I don't think has been captured before. Well done!

Q: 05:55 It's not really bouncing? A: That is because there is no air underneath the liquid when it falls down. Why no air underneath??, because liquid gallium has high surface tension (more than 10 times of water) so it does not break into droplets and falls as a single entity (Reason for ripples - perturbation present in the system, Rayleigh-Plateau instability)
